Youth Advisory Council

E2LA believes the young people we serve should play an active role in shaping the organization itself.

Selected alumni serve on the Youth Advisory Council, providing ongoing feedback on curriculum and programming to ensure that E2LA remains culturally relevant, responsive, and grounded in the lived experiences of today's youth.

Advisory Board members participate in listening sessions, review curriculum, recommend new case studies and examples, identify emerging trends in social media and youth culture, and help ensure our programming continues to meet the evolving needs of students.

By inviting alumni to become co-creators of our curriculum, we honor their expertise while giving them meaningful leadership experience and a lasting voice in the organization's future.

The YAC program is led by the Directors of Curriculum Development, who facilitate the listening sessions and gain feedback from the students to apply to how E2LA improves, adds to, or changes the curriculum.

Media Literacy 101

Students develop foundational media literacy skills by learning how to evaluate the credibility of information and distinguish trustworthy sources from misinformation. They practice fact-checking, recognizing bias, verifying claims, identifying persuasive techniques, and assessing the reliability of news articles, videos, social media posts, and AI-generated content.
